Our Services

Swedish/Relaxation

The Wellness/Relaxation outcome is achieved with our “classic” massage foundation and will leave you feeling relaxed and renewed. Your massage therapist will use an integrated series of gliding (effleurage) and kneading (petrissage) methods, combined with gentle rhythmic joint movement. A variety of comfort based pressure levels are used during the session. Similar to the modality known as “Swedish massage” your session will also include a variety of massage approaches that can result in deep relaxation and a feeling of well-being. If you have never received a massage before, this is a good place to start.

Deep Tissue/Trigger Point

The Deep Tissue massage session is built on the “classic” relaxation massage session with additional focus on reducing physiological stress responses such as anxiety, mild depression and fatigue. Your massage therapist will include a focus on and reduction of generalized body aches. Included in the massage session are a variety of methods some of which may require functional breathing, deeper focused pressure to reduce trigger point activity in muscles used for breathing and in the neck and shoulder area. All methods integrated into the massage focus on deep relaxation and support restorative sleep. Clients often report a sense of perspective and clarity as well as a sense of rejuvenation after receiving a stress relieving massage.

Medical, Sports, Pre-Natal

Medical massage is a clinical approach to massage therapy which applies many medical massage modalities that have been proven by science to treat certain pathologies, chronic pain syndromes, acute injury, & disease in the body.

With regular sports massage therapy, muscle fiber adhesions decrease taking pressure off the spine, and pelvis. Trigger points will be released, joint inflammation & muscle inflammation will decrease, and range of motion is increased.

Prenatal massage can ease some of the aches and pains of pregnancy and help you relax. It may also reduce swelling, improve mood, and help relieve some pregnancy depression and anxiety. Before getting a pregnancy massage, make sure to get your provider’s okay and find a massage therapist with training in prenatal massage.

Making Your Experience The Best It Can Be...

Arrive a few minutes prior to appointment time. Time slots are set for optimum client access. If you are late to your appointment, your session time will remain for the time slot it was booked.

Communication is key. If you have questions, be sure to ask. Your therapist is there to help you and to make your experience relaxing and comfortable.

When you are instructed to disrobe, you will be told to “undress to your comfort level.”  This means you can undress to nothing at all for maximum effectiveness to access the full muscle groups. Alternatively, you may leave on undergarments if you feel more comfortable. Remember, you will always be covered and draped and ONLY the area being worked on is exposed. You will get a great massage experience when you are comfortable. Only you can decide what your comfort level is.

Never wear HEAVILY SCENTED body products (perfume, cologne) to a massage. Your therapist may have allergies to strong scents. PLEASE NOTE: Basic deodorant and hygiene products are not only fine, but encouraged. 🙂

Freshly wash your hair just prior to your massage. If you have long hair, wearing a scrunchie or hair tie is a good idea.

It is imperative that you bathe prior to a massage and exfoliate your skin before the massage, especially between your toes and your back.

For your therapist’s protection against cuts and bacterial infections, he/she will avoid your feet if you have not cut and filed any sharp edges off of your toenails.

Cigarette smokers – please do not smoke immediately prior to your session.

Inform the therapist if you have a spray tan or body make-up on so that we can use non-staining sheets during your treatment.

It is never okay to bring children or pets to your massage that will be unsupervised while you are mentally and physically unavailable on the massage table. Unfortunately we do not provide childcare services.

Please do not bring additional people to your massage. A therapist may become uncomfortable being watched while she is working or have to alter her routine because someone is in her way.

It is important to disclose any new medications and treatments you are currently undergoing that vary from your original intake form prior to re-booking any massage appointment.

You must cover all open skin (cuts, warts, etc) with a band-aid and bring to the therapists attention prior to your massage.

Remove all make-up from face before climbing on to the massage table. Replacing stained linens can be very costly.

Remove all jewelry prior to your massage. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items.

We ask that you turn your cell phone off during your massage for your own peace-of-mind. If you need to leave it on for an emergency, that’s fine…….just let the therapist know.
